The "Albata Geodesic Dome System" is a modified stressed skin type design that utilizes the advantages of the "hub and strut" and the stressed skin type of domes. Our connectors (or "hubs" ) are made from 3/4" plywood and have metal alignment brackets to assure proper alignment of all ribs (struts) and makes assembly much easier than some types of connectors. This eliminates the need to have to retighten any connections because of the wood shrinkage problem that could occur when using a metal type connection against a wood component. Since the connectors are wood against wood using lag screws or nails, this problem is nonexistent . Our connectors are made in house using our special jigs and fixtures to exact tolerances. These connectors are much less costly to make since we control the manufacturing of them, and we can pass the savings on to our customers. Each component of the dome shell kit is color coded for identification and ease of assembly.
A.I.'s geodesic domes result in energy efficient homes that are concrete homes. The dome home utilizes sandwich panels that consist of steel reinforced concrete, seven inch thick expanded bead polystyrene insulation (E.P.S.) and interior wall board. American Ingenuity's prefabricated homes can be adapted to make solar homes that produce energy efficient houses.
American Ingenuity warranties their energy efficient homes to structurally withstand hurricanes, tornados and earthquakes.
Besides manufacturing the geodesic dome home building kit, American Ingenuity offers stock dome house plans. A.I.'s building kit is typically one third to one half less in cost than what the materials cost for a conventionally built stick house or wood dome or monolithic dome.

Our fiberglass dome home is a product of almost 27 years of research, development, testing and building. Constructed of molded fiberglass with permanent colors, the dome never needs painting and requires little or no outside maintenance, with the exception of an occasional washing to keep it like new.
