I think your magazine is a great idea and coming along fine. It is a chance to
breath fresh air into the Dome world. The moving Banner is the best thing I've
seen anywhere!!

I would be honored if you linked to my site. If you want any of the pictures let
me know
Good luck

Thanks for the kind words Ian, sometimes sitting here in front of the computer, looking at the visitor count makes me wonder... Then your letter appears. Makes me think it is worthwhile. I have the two pictures you have sent and they are spectacular, if they don't want to make people go out and build a dome, I don't know what will.
Thanks for the kind words about the scrolling banner, I wish I could take credit for it, truth is, my webpage building abilities are a tweak-above point and click. The banner comes from the Frappr site, Dome Living Magazine. An attempt to map the Geodesic Domes in the country so that those having trouble with finance through a bank can show the banker a dome nearby for a comparison, same with insurance, and maybe, just maybe, someone would like to show-off their dome to people nearby.
I was recentlyasked about a polyureathane covering (the kind they use for pick-up liners) for Monolithic domes.
I told the person I didn't know much about the covering but I'd write to MDI for information. The president of the company David South was kind enough to write back with the answer below...
Jack
Dear Jack,
At one time we removed the Airform and coated the foam. It was not the thing to do. The pick up bed liner is called Poly Urea. It works great as additional protection. We also go over the Airform with metal covering, paint, poly Urea, 2'' of reinforced concrete, layer of rock, Monolithic Stucco, dirt as in bury the house--not myfavorite etc.
Sincerely,
David B South,President

This is my home, tucked nicely into a neighborhood of relatively new modern
mcmansions. It needs some work. Let me know if you know anyone who will
donate any!

Good Afternoon, Jack.
Thank you for including us on your website. It is really quite
interesting and professional.
We don't like to mislead people, so I would like you to know that our dome homes cost about the same to build as a conventional home and dome homes are at least 40% more energy efficient than a conventional stick home. Adding solar panes just make our dome homes more efficient.
If you need any information, do not hesitate to contact me.
