'This giant dome is approximately three-quarters of a sphere, is 200 feet high and has a diameter of 250 feet. It is made of a welded space frame of steel pipes which used to contain 1,900 molded acrylic panels, but they were flammable and one day burned. The dome itself is still standing proud. It now contains a water/river museum. The dome was supposed to be bolted together, but expo planners insisted it be welded, so post-expo disassembly did not happen and we have a great landmark.'
